After Enlightenment, chop wood, carry water” This Buddhist quote summarizes the inspiration for this unique experience.

Join us in the Esplande Range of the Northern Selkirks. Surrounded by pristine mountain terrain, crystal clear lakes, and brilliant wildflowers this place is truly a hiker’s heaven! A hut-to-hut hiking adventure in the Esplanade Range will take you to three different backcountry lodges over four nights, with the comfort of having some of your gear flown ahead by helicopter. Typical days are a combination of open valleys, partially set trails, off trail and ridges.

You do not need to be an expert hiker for these trips. However a solid fitness level is required in order to be prepared/comfortable to walk at a steady pace that is sustainable for 6-7 hours with a 40 liter day pack (with breaks, don’t worry). On the flip side, if you are looking to max out your heart rate at hiking boot camp, this retreat may not meet your needs :) You will be carrying warm layers for changing mountains conditions, toiletries, bathing suit, your lunch and water. This retreat includes four nights of accommodation, hiking, healthy cuisine, yoga, guided introspection and 2 helicopter rides!

The luxurious Sentry Lodge will be the final destination, where you’ll complete this extraordinary experience with daily yoga classes to balance body, mind, & spirit. Sentry Lodge sits at 7000 feet and we have the opportunity to hike up to 8000 feet. In true backcountry style, there is a wood fired sauna at all three lodges.

We meet west of Golden British Columbia for a helicopter flight into the lodge to kick this adventure off in style! Our team includes an ACMG hiking guide, a Chef and a Yoga Instructor to take care of all aspects of your backcountry experience. Joining me to lead these retreats is the talented Beth Purser of Revelstoke Retreats is an ACMG hiking guide and a skilled Yoga Teacher. Beth has been hosting her own retreats in the area for years.
